no mantle?

What to do with those Christmas stockings and no fireplace?

I found the answer while shopping at Kirklands (love that place!). Now I have somewhere to hang the stockings I'm making.

This stocking was made by my mom a little over 30 years ago. I love it and wanted my daughter and husband (and hopefully future kids) to have one just like it. So I'm hand sewing theirs now. *A future post*

Ribbon tree

I have seen this posted all around Pinterest (of which I am an addict) and on blogs. I thought...."I can do this," and so I did.
It was EASY! I already had some of the ribbon and the styrofoam cones. I got the rest of the ribbon at Michaels for 60% off (marked accidentally) :) and the pins.
I measured about 2.5 inches on my table and cut each different type of ribbon to that measurement.
Fold the ribbon in half and push a pin through it, then pin to the styrofoam. EASY!

I will probably put a ribbon bow on top or an ornament. I put the ribbon tree on some wire candle stands I got at Goodwill. This was a fun and easy craft/decoration for Christmas that took a half day to make - if that!
